Hello, new to Forum & Smoking

Hey everyone, glad to be part of this community and hobby, I just picked up a 2014 WSM 18.5" and Auber SYL-1615SYS.

I wanted to thank you all a head of time for the help. :-)

    Homework:
Hello, my name is Chris and I'm located in Rockford IL. I just got into smoking a few weeks ago with a ECB. I quickly learned it was just too much work and purchased a WSM 18.5" and Auber temp controller. I have only smoked some chicken quarters (pictured below) and some chicken breasts. Both turned out very well and I'm looking forward to doing Ribs, Brisket and the ever so loved Pork Butt.

Thank you! So far I'm having a bumpy start with it. I'm going to post some support questions later tonight around it.

WSMTish I would run that "auto-tune cycle." After Bill ran that, his temp. standard deviation was only 1.65

I saw that, I tried the AT cycle and it got stuck at 176F and couldn't clime from there for over 80 min. I'll need to learn how to manage my fuel and hopefully I will find some fellow WSM people with tips on how much fuel to use and so on.

I will be using mine on a 22" kettle. I already know what it takes to get to 225. I'll try the auto-tune if things go hay wire.
