    Hello from Northbrook IL

Hello everyone. I have enjoyed the newsletter for a few years. Recently I realized how much I look up recipes and reviews on what I consider the standard of BBQ information. I recently joined to make things right.

I now live in the north suburbs of Chicago but grew up in San Francisco in the days one could almost afford living there.

In the mid 70's, I discovered a store in San Mateo that sold Pachinko machines a Japanese pin ball machine.
When I went to buy a Pachinko I saw my 1st kamado there, which was a Japanese import. As I recall they claimed to be the in the US to sell them. If true that makes me a pioneer user.
I was soon making BBQ that was actually pretty good for a change.

I recently retired and it's time to replace my long lost kamado. I am sure I will get a Kamada Joe, unless someone has a compelling reason not to.

Meathead, I want to thank you for all you are doing and also the discount coupon for a Themoworks thermometer.
I got one the same day I received the package. It is a real quality device and I see the difference between it and the 10 or so I have cluttering up my drawers.

Sorry for being to wordy and I get worse after a cocktail or 2.

Proud to say I love all things BBQ

    Mike

Welcome from a former neighbor on the Sacramento river Delta. Yes lots of good knowledge here. I'm learning so much.
Moved out of the Bay Area about 15 years ago. To crowded and $$. Born in San Jose and remember lots of orchards and open space. Plus there use to be space between the cities! Now LA north.

Welcome, glad to have you aboard. Interesting Kamado story. In my inexperience I would strongly recommend looking at Adrenaline Barbeque’s Slow N Sear Kamado. It really is a remarkably well thought out Kamado that out does most others in a few key areas of cookin and is 22” to boot. It was designed by an Amazing Rib member, David Parrish. Eat good & have fun. Again, glad to have ya with us.
