    Hello from Vancouver, BC

Just purchased a Weber Limited Edition kettle and psyched to try it out. 2 questions

1 - is it possible to save articles and /or recipes somewhere in my membership area?

2 - suggestions on first cook, tips, etc to get started

Welcome to the Pitmaster Club! Thanks for joining up! You can follow and subscribe to topics that are written up in The Pitmaster Club. (Located in the upper right hand corner of every topic) Every time there is discussion on that particular topic it will notify you in your message center.

For a first cook, I always recommend chicken. It is cheap, easy and if you screw it up, it won't cost you an arm and a leg. (Okay maybe a wing and a leg)

Check out our sub-forum on all things Kettles. There are a ton of great topics contain with in. It should also give you a good idea of what to do for your first cook. Although we are more than happy to help you with that directly as well.

When you have a second, give this thread a once over. There is some important information for you. This information will ensure you get the most out of your experience here in The Pit.

Also, it's very important that you:
    • Check your email, go to User settings then the account tab.You currently cannot change your email on file with us since it’s tied to your Pitmaster Club account as well as our payment processor, Stripe. Don’t worry though, we’d be happy to change it for you. Please visit this link: https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/pi...il-request.php
    • Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important to receive special deals we occasionally work out for our members, notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly "Great Giveaway" Monthly Sweepstakes winner, which is open to all USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!
    • Finally, we would LOVE to hear from you! Please check out our Pit Cast. You can have a chat with Greg Rempe, from the BBQ Central Show! Not to worry, he makes things easy! This is a great way for our community to meet our new members on a more personal level! Check out all the Pit Casts here!

Thank you for your support. We are excited to have you and we look forward to your contributions.

Welcome to the Pit! The kettle is a great cooker. Chicken, yes. Also get yourself a good digital thermometer. Thermoworks is having a sale on my favorite, the DOT. I also like the POP for probing. www.thermoworks.com/

Welcome from the mountains of NC. Definitely get an instant read Thermometer. The Thermoworks Dot is great at 34.00. Then you can go on to a smoking thermometer like the Maverick ET-732 or Smoke. For first cooks chicken thighs, pork chops.

I always want to make sure that new members start keeping a journal of there cooks. It needs to include a lot of information, meat type, size, time of cook, weather, temp of the cooker, woods used, and on and on. There is a good one on Amazon by Raichlen.

Welcome from Maryland. I haven’t figured out a way to save things from here within membership. I have a folder in my browser and bookmark everything I want to save in it. Sure would nice if someone pipes up and tells us another way.
As to first cooks, a pork butt is always a winner. Easy to do and helps develop temperature holding skills on a new cooker with a piece of meat that is very forgiving.

Welcome to the pit from another part of Colorado.

Henning as far as your first cook you can't go wrong with a couple racks of ribs. Here is a link to the recipe page.

Perfectly balanced smoke, spice, and meat make these ribs unforgettable. Your guests can thank us later.
