    I have visited the sight many times for help on this and that. Well today I could not find what I was looking for. So I joined. As my name says I love to cook what I harvest. Well today I'm smoking a bear roast!

              Welcome to the Pitmaster Club! Thanks for joining up! bear roast, that is a new one on me. I would love to hear more about this cook. I have heard that bear is pretty good, but I have never had the chance to try it.

                  Er ... you might want to skip the "Waiting room temp" step. Not only are you running the risk of a food safety boo-boo ... but smoke adheres to cold meat much better than to warm. Oh, and welcome from Colorado ...

                        I wrapped with foil to finish. Will be bringing temp up above 180 to avoid any trichinosis. Not sure how high I want to bring it. Bear fat is different than deer as it is more user friendly. Only found one posting about smoking bear and they chose 210.

                        Bear roast!!!! Man oh man. My uncles used to take me to Elks Club game dinners, and I had some bear meat. I wasn't too fond of it, but I am sure that they didn't prepare it on a kettle/sns. Oh yeah, welcome to the pit.
