    Hello from the Netherlands

    Howdy Pitmasters,
A warm hello from a fellow meat lover. Name is Hans, and I live in the Netherlands. I signed up to be part of a greater family of like minded peers across the globe. I am not entirely new to smoking meat but am not a seasoned pro like most of you. I like to learn from all of you to continue and improve my skills and techniques, and learn recipes, and share pictures and information.
I do all my stuff on a Weber WSM and Weber Kettle so far.

    Greetings,
    Hans

Welcome to the Pitmaster Club! Great to have another European onboard!

Since you’re new, and if you haven't already done so, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:

Give us an email address you actually use. You can check the email we have on file for you by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Account tab. It’s tied to your Pitmaster Club account as well as our payment processor, Stripe. Don’t worry though, you can change it by simply visiting https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/pi...il-request.php

Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important so you can receive special deals we occasionally work out for our members, receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner, which is open to all paying USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

                Thanks for joining!

So CaptainMike I was curious about the state of Jefferson. I had never heard of it. I thought it was like Land of Lincoln or Lone Star State but apparently it is really a movement or was a movement in North California and South Oregon to create another state.
Is this Idea still being persued?
I don’t intend to start a political discussion so please forgive me and ignor my comment if that is what I have done.

jecucolo, While there is certainly a "political" component to the issue, I try to steer clear of those arguments. According to history, the SoJ movement had some pretty good traction in the 20's and 30's and might have succeeded but for the onset of WWII when we had some different priorities. There's still an active group advocating for it, and I'd honestly take my chances with self-determination over what CA has become, but it's quite a long shot and highly unlikely.

For me it's an ideal and a nod to our past and spirit of rugged individualism. It's about self-determination, self-reliance, liberty and personal responsibility. It's about local governance and community based problem solving. I think I'll just leave it right there, but I'm glad you took the time to check it out and ask about it.
