I have enjoyed grilled food pretty much from birth. Dad taught gave me a few pointers when I first got married (almost 20 years) ago and I have enjoyed it ever since. I started on a Smokey Joe when I was in an apartment, graduated to a Weber Kettle (which had a very tragic ending during the move). I purchased a 18.5 in. Weber Smokey Mountain back in '05 and have done quite a bit on that (mainly boston butts) but have done other things in the process as well. I also picked up a Weber Genesis in '08 and have mainly used for pure convenience. I am looking for another grill, maybe a kamado style grill, but still evaluating my options.
I have updated my bio with a bit more info if anyone is interested. I recently picked up Meathead's book and currently am pouring through that. I am a chemist by education which is why this book resonated with me. I am very analytical by nature and like to be precise for the sake of consistency. My wife is more of the "wing it" variety which drives me crazy. I am glad I found this site and have been lurking for the last week and a half to just read about topics around barbecuing and grilling. Thanks for reading!
