Well, I said I learned all I could because that was right! I really only have a couple of dishes I can cook here, due to lack of meat selection. Lamb chops, leg of lamb, chicken thighs, marinated kebabs and hamburgers. I keep saying I'm going to go and find a butcher to get pork ribs, but never do it. I pretty much mastered these foods and didn't need any more advice. Sorry if anyone got offended, but...geez. I asked question after question which the folks here kindly put up with, even when I persisted and asked drilldown questions. I bought item after item until I was pretty much finished. Now I'm taking it to the next level by cooking out at this bar. I didn't want to do it but kind of got backed into a corner.
Meat availability is getting better - slowly. There have been three meat emporiums open lately on Wechat, two British and one Italian. I suppose it's nice to be able to get British bacon and Italian duck confit, but I want a damn brisket. There is a fancy outfit in Shanghai that sells brisket, but their market is wealthy expatriate executives so the price is through the roof.
