Long-time lurker here. I used to cook with a team on the competition circuit around Jackson and at MIM but got away from it about 10 years back.
The last few years what little smoking I've done has been on a Weber Kettle with the smokenator. I've cooked some really good pig on it but I was spoiled by the Backwoods Party and Hog cookers we used in competition. I always wanted a Backwoods but didn't need the capacity (or expense) of a Party. The size would've been fine but I couldn't talk myself into spending the money or justify it for how often I cooked ribs, shoulder, etc. I searched and hoped that I could find a good deal on a used Party but either found one that wasn't in a condition to justify the price or I was too late to the show. Anyway, after getting over my cheapness, I decided to take the plunge and bought a Chubby.
I look forward to checking out different recipes and techniques y'all have on the board.
