    Hello from Hangtown

Hi, I’m Mike from Placerville, Ca. I finally joined after checking out this website for a long time. It’s definitely the best. This is the first forum I’ve been on anywhere,so pardon if I have no clue what I’m doing. My passion as well as my career is cooking. The past dozen years or so, most of my cooking has been outdoors. I do horse camps all over central and Northern California and cook for many different sized groups. I have different sized trailers depending on the size of group and # of days I’ll be out. Many times we’re in remote, off road locations, and staying as light as possible while producing great results is the biggest challenge. I’ve found many links on this site that have helped me find stuff that has worked well for me. Long winded sorry. Looking forward to sharing, and learning new things always

Welcome to the Pit Wanac from NE Washington state. I was a tourist in Placerville a few times before escaping California, a great destination for a Harley ride. Along with tips, techniques, and recipes about BBQ we have a lot of fun. If you like music, go to this thread to hear what others are listening to and share what you like. For jokes, go to this thread. Go to this thread to post where you work and what your hobbies are and get to know other members here. We are happy to have you along and looking forward to your participation.

If you have a Weber Kettle, you need the Slow 'N' Sear

                              Placeholder

The Slow 'N' Sear turns your grill into a first class smoker and also creates an extremely hot sear zone you can use to create steakhouse steaks.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

                              Placeholder

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The PBC has a rabid cult following for good reason. It is absolutely positively without a doubt the best bargain on a smoker in the world. Period. This baby will cook circles around the cheap offset sideways barrel smokers because temperature control is so much easier.
