    Hello from Vermont

I built my first smoker a little over ten years ago and have been hooked on smoking & Q ever since. I used that one for a couple of years making adjustments as I learned. My second smoker I built from an old metal closet using a electric element as the main heat source and charcoal & sawdust for smoke (I am still using). Never being satisfied(wink) I made a third one again using a old metal cabinet and a old portable gas grill. That build end in disaster, the first couple of cooks went ok. On my third cook I made a couple of tweaks, fired up and started the cook. After an hour or so BAM !! and.... well....Let's just say that my my building career ended right there!! lol. But on the bright side I was able to save the meat and finished on one of the other units and I also made some new friends from the Fire Department that now enjoy my Q too. I then purchased a gas cabinet smoker and a charcoal barrel smoker/grill from home Depot and have been using them along with my homemade elec. one for the last few years. Now I finally pulled the trigger and stepped up to a pellet smoker/grill. I will receive my new Traeger Timberline today. I can't wait to start using it. I hear it's like learning all over again, I would love to hear any advise and or ideas on getting stared and using this. I am happy to finally be apart of this wonderful Amazing Ribs community and am looking forward to chatting, learning and sharing with the fellow members here. Thanks and Happy cookin !!
