Hi from an American in Germany.

    Hi Guys and Gals,

A quick note about myself. I'm retired USAF and I was an avionics tech on F-15s. It's not a glamorous as it sounds. And spent most of my life bouncing around the globe and I'm currently working in Holland though I live on the German side of the border. It's much cheaper than the Netherlands. I will soon be married for 30 years to the same woman. I hail from Auburn Washington and we'll be returning to that side of the pond in a couple of years.

As for my grill credentials I would be overstating them to say I'm a rookie. If you were to ask me a few questions you'd get these kinds of answers.

What grill do you use? It's square.
    What's your sauce? Kraft
    Your thermometer? A fork

I enjoy grilling and decided to get good at it. So I'm open to suggestion and recommendations. I believe in buying value, not cheap. So after spending a week lurking around the site I'm getting a idea of what to get. I'm leaning toward a 22" kettle, a slow n' sear and the et 732 bundle on the web page. Their are plenty of other things but they can wait until I atleast get my feet wet and figure out what I like. I will confess I'm intrigued by the PBC. Oh, I've already ordered Meathead to give a read before spending any money.

I look forward to spending some quality time and chatting in the forums.

Welcome! Yes, I can attest to the fact that NL is EXPENSIVE!! My wife is Dutch. We have lots of Dutch friends and whenever they move back they invariably buy a car and ship it back there. It's cheaper to buy a German car that was built in Germany and shipped to the USA and then pay to ship it to NL rather than buy that same German car in the NL. Crazy!

Welcome to The Pit. The Weber 22" is a great start - especially when you add the SnS. Learn how to use that before buying another cooker. It will cook just about anything you want from protiens to pizza. It's limiting factor is the amount it can cook at one time

Welcome! I like your forum name. The kettle and SnS is very versatile. You can't go wrong with that combo. I highly recommend the PBC, or the PBJ.
