Barrel recomendation

I am looking to purchase my first drum smoker. I already own a pellet smoker and a gasser. I am looking at the Pit Barrel Cooker and the Barrel House. There is $50 dollars difference between the 2 which is not relevant to my purchase. But is the PBC worth the extra money?

I love mine. People rave about the PBC customer service and I actually emailed them when I first received mine and received a pretty timely response to a question about lighting times on the kind of charcoal I was using. They are also developing a lot of neat accessories to go with their barrel.

As for the Barrel House, they are a direct rip-off of the PBC and PBC filed a lawsuit at one point but I don't know the result of that. I've never used one and never would.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the BH is a rip off of the PBC, and I would not give them my business unless someone shows that I am wrong.

PBC. I own two. I keep one at my Uncles farm and one at home. The PBC works great when I go down to visit. We can be off doing other stuff while the PBC just does it thing. Plus, the customer service is excellent.

I have a Barrel House Cooker, the 14" one. There are substantial design differences between the PBC and the BHC. I quite like mine. I'm happy about the size and design features. Interestingly, PBC recently came out with a 14" drum cooker of their own to compete directly with the BHC.
