Hello!
New member here from NE Kansas. I look forward to spending time in this community and hope to get to know many of you well.
I have been cooking for a number of years but almost only in a social setting. I have catered a few events by request but I don't shop myself around.... yet.
The wife and I are now empty-nesters and have joined the KCBS and plan on taking a judging class in the near future. We wonder if competition cooking may be in the future but we will see what we like doing together first.
I currently own about a dozen smokers/grills. My go to smokers are an electric Cookshack AmeriQue (I know many dislike the electrics but when it's 5 degrees outside and my smoker is going I'm all smiles) and a Cookshack Fast Eddy's PG500.

Welcome to The Pit! I think you'll fit in here just fine with that many cookers! Have fun at that class, I enjoyed it and I learned a lot about KCBS comps. I learned that I probably won't compete, Id' rather judge.

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:

1. Give us an email address you actually use. You can check the email we have on file for you by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Notifications tab. 2. Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam!
