    Greetings from Shingle Springs CA

Recently retired and moved to Shingle Springs, in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Great to be out of the rat race of the bay area. Have lots of time now for BBQ, Pizza, RC planes, training our new German Sheppard pup and a little golf.

You question caused me to look it up. We are in the California Gold Rush Area. Shingle Springs, like most towns here were established by a miners camp. It’s named after a horse drawn mobile shingle machine, that produced 16,000 shingles per day. I didn’t know that until now

Welcome to the Pit from another Bay Area escapee, only a bit further to NE Washington state. Along with tips, techniques, and recipes about BBQ we have a lot of fun. The Cool Kettle With The Hinged Hood We Always Wanted

Napoleon’s 22″ Pro Cart Charcoal Kettle Grill puts a few spins on the familiar kettle design. In fact, the hinged lid with a handle on the front spins in a rotary motion 180 degrees. It’s hard to beat a Weber kettle, but Napoleon holds its own and adds some unique features to make the 22″ Pro Cart a viable alternative. Click here for more about what makes this grill special.
