Whats up Pit Fam? Greetings from Toronto

Hello everyone, my name is Bez (24 y.o). I discovered an interest in barbecue around a year ago. My idea was that it was a hobby for older men (but i guess i'm getting there rite? lol).

Restaurant BBQ tastes good, but the texture was dry and tough. I don't like a jaw workout when i eat, so i decided to take a stab at it myself.

God i still remember the first time i made ribs. It was like a succulent orgy in my mouth.

For a first try at making ribs, it made me really happy. I was even happier when friends eyes lit up as he bit into it.

But i can do better, which is why I've come to mingle with other BBQ'ers.

Hope i can get to know all of you

Oh yeah, it’s a hobby & some of us are really old, I mean really. For others it becomes a way of life, per your experience with your friends. Why go thru life eatin tough junky, tasteless food when with a little effort you can have the thing you described going on in your mouth on an everyday basis, with tons of different food, not just BBQ meat. Good to have you aboard, eat good & have fun?

Ma Fireman you are so right, life is gray if you cannot enjoy your meals.

Welcome to The Pit Bez. You might want to add pork butts and chuck roasts to your list of things to try. Both are easy cooks, and the recipes are on the free side.

Welcome to the Pit! BBQ is age defiant, anyone can do it or eat it and if done right go orgasmic over it!

I need to indoctrinate my future kids with orgasmic BBQ so they can hang with the boys around the grill. No beer just apple juice

Plenty of that around the kitchen if your doing pork butts! A little apple juice in the wrap helps keep things moist.

And we USA-nians love the ongoing battle between well-done and cooked right! It's sort of like watching Hamlet!
