John here. Grew up in Georgia but moved to New Brunswick in 2002. Lived in Ontario for a few years but came back here in 2007 for good. Finally had to start making my own barbecue since the locals cook a hot dog on a grill and call it barbeque. Learned old school but digging a pit and cooking over wood coals back in my youth but got a smoker a year or so ago and gone hog wild. Joined the site because I'm starting with bacon (first belly curing now).
So far it's mainly been ribs and boston butt but I make a lot of jerky friends and family line up for. A few turkeys, too many chickens to count.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories.
