    Just wanna say Hi

Hi folks. NOOB to this site and just wanna say hi. Been smokin' for a short time and love trying new stuff. My name, Gettin' Better, is what my better half says when I tell her I just tried another recipe. I primarily use a Traeger (love it) with a mix of pellets but also have a charcoal and propane units. I'll smoke and eat damn near anything but pork has got to be number 1 (2, 3, & 4 actually). Looks like a great site to learn from. Thanks for the add.

Welcome to The Pit! Thank you for the support. What kind of cookers do you have? What is some of your favorite things to cook? Great to have you!

Since this is your first post, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:
      • Give us an email address you actually use. You can check the email we have on file for you by clicking your name in the upper-right, then User Settings, then the Notifications tab. You currently cannot change your email on file with us since it’s tied to your Pitmaster Club account as well as our payment processor, Stripe. Don’t worry though, we’d be happy to change it for you. PM (private message) Huskee with your email change request, or via email at [email protected]
      • Add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list. We NEVER spam! This is important to receive notices about your account, such as if you’re up for renewal or are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner, which is open to all USA members or those with a USA delivery address (we’d hate to have to pick another person because you don’t answer us)!

This is a great place to hang out and we hope you will join us on a regular basis. Jump in on the fun!

Welcome to The Pit. Have you tried smokin' a chuck roast? Mighty tasty. Beef ribs are also very high on my list.

A chuckie smokes the same way as a pork butt, but you will probably have to take it to a higher temp to get it probe tender. A beef rub like BBBR or Montreal Steak Seasoning would be a better choice for a rub. Some are happy with just salt and pepper, and some add a little garlic and/or onion powder to the S&P.
