I'm a transplant converted lava rock propane gas griller from the mid-west. I never understood how people could run their smoker and constantly shovel the snow off of it. I'd just shovel the deck and clear the grill. Do some hot and fast steaks and run. Then go to a restaurant where someone else tended the long cooks.
No more of that! I Just got my first smoker about a month ago and can't believe I waited this long. I'd been mulling it over for 3+ years and finally my wife gave me the big shove. "Just go get it, you clearly want one!" With all necessary approvals, and no longer finding any reason to procrastinate further on the acquisition I'm now a proud owner of a Traeger Timberline 1300.
My first cook didn't go well, and I called tech support about why the cooker wasn't holding temp. Turns out there was a software patch and a shroud to adjust. The funny part was Traeger support was afraid the ambient thermometer or controller was broken. It was reading 115 degrees for the ambient temperature while doing the cook, and I was like nope. Its accurate I live in Las Vegas. A few adjustments, a nice new software patch and I'm smoking up about anything I've ever thought to make.
