Hey all, thanks for the great reception! I've been swamped at work the last couple of months, and didn't realize I wasn't signed in to the site to see the comments back.
I'm definitely looking for a gas grill...... I haven't gotten into smoking or barbecuing (as of yet). Most of what I do is "everyday grilling" for my wife and I - steaks, ribs, burgers, veggies, small roasts (tri-tip), etc...... but we periodically host small parties (8-12 people) where grilling a bunch of stuff is a necessity. I'm not interested in a budget grill - I'm looking for one with a good-sized cooking area (700+ sq. in), good temperature control with high BTU's (I want it to get super-hot to do the occasional pizza or other high-high heat cook), the ability to have (within reason) decent zone temperature differentials, top-notch construction and materials, etc......
When I was first looking at the site, one of the highest recommended grills was a FireMagic model (I think it was about $4-5k) - looks like something else has replaced it. I like the FireMagic features - any other suggestions?
One final note - aside from having the grill, I'm designing the kitchen so that there's a separate accessible gas stub. I plan to get a mobile paella burner/cart which can plug it when I want to make that. (It could also be used to fuel a portable outdoor heater.) Anybody know of other cooking-related items (e.g. small mobile / counter-top pizza ovens, etc......) that could be used with a free-standing gas stub?
Thanks again!
