Newbie From the Niagara Region of Ontario Canada

I want to thank ya'll for your willingness to share your experiences with us all. I have learned much about smoking(meats) and BBQ from this site almost exclusively. I purchased Meatheads book and have learned so much and his science has helped me separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak. My foray into BBQ begun when I purchased my first BBQ/Smoker a Kamado Joe and I really love it but perhaps you can advise me: I have also been thinking about purchasing a Weber Charcoal grill for doing faster cooks like burgers, steaks, chops etc. Does this make sense? I love my Kamado but it doesnt have the largest cooking area(18") and seems to lend itself better for larger cuts of meat. It takes a while to get it going, and a Weber seems it might have a faster start up time.
Anyway, thanks again for all you do for the benefit of others on this forum and hopefully I'll be able to contribute in a meaningful way as well.

Welcome to the Pit! The Weber kettle is very versatile. It would be a great accompaniment to your Kamado. Enjoy good food!

Welcome to The Pit. How many people might you be cookin' for? The 22.5" Weber can easily cook for around 4 people, but if you regularly cook for more, you should consider the 26" kettle.

Huntington Beach welcomes you and yes, get a kettle. I have a 22 and a 26. I use them all the time. Long cooks and fast cooks. The Slow n Sear is a great tool as well. Good luck and post cooks.

Welcome! I doubt anyone here will say a cross word about a Weber Kettle. Keep in mind that you still need 15 minutes to get the chimney going, but from there you can get hot food very quickly.

Welcome from southern Ontario I have found this site very useful, I would purchase a gas grill. I have a Traeger pellet smoker and Akron kamado egg and a Napelon gas grill and I use all three. I told my wife I want a stick burner next but she does not think I need another cooker?
