Long time lurker and word shy since English is not my first language (Italian is).
Been smoking meat for the last 12 years. First with a WMS, then with a Pit Barrell Grill. Now with a Camp Chef Smoke Vault.
What a great community this is. What a great site this is.
Bienvenido, Paisano Stefano! Poliziano
Welcome to th' Pit.
No need to be shy, here...
Speak what ya can, we'll, all together, figger it out, an' vice versa!
I spent some enjoyable time in Sicily, (Base Nato, Sigonella), an' Lampedusa...
T-bone, I was there in 1986. Great folks, fantastic food!!! Very much enjoyed th' beaches, as well. We were mounted out to Lampedusa th' mornin' after Libya fired SCUD missiles at th' island.
Mr. Bones, definitely agree on the people and food. I had a number of detachments to Sig from 1991-2000. We always enjoyed conducting flight ops out of there. Ya gotta love a place where the wine is cheaper than water and you can take empty containers and get them filled at the local wine pump.

We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
