    Greetings!

Greetings from Roanoke, VA. Just stumbled upon this site, and joined right away. Love all things cooking...grilling...smoking. My go-to outside appliance is my PK grill. I've cooked on a PK since I was a kid...even inherited my dad's when he passed. Also use a gas grill from time to time, and have cooked many meals on a Weber kettle as well.

I've got a day job, but I also have a side gig, running a little company I started out of self defense. Some years back, I started creating and giving away seasoning blends at Christmas. After giving away over 200 jars one Christmas, I realized that I can't afford to do that any more. So...there you go.

I'm excited to learn more about smoking and branching out into new techniques and recipes. Thanks for having me.

    - Dave

Welcome to fun and learning! I really enjoy my Weber kettle now that it's fitted out with the Slow-n-Sear. You'll find lots of friendly folks happy to share.

Welcome to the Pit Dave...👍 It's great that your PK was passed down by your father. They are great cookers and popular in the Pit. The Pit will make your kettle into a really nice smoker and a better grill too. You might have to buy a couple of new accessories though. All of us that join the Pit seem to need lots of new cookers and accessories though so don't feel like you're different. We call that condition MCS in the Pit and we find it's an incurable affliction so don't bother trying to NOT buy more cookers and accessories... just adjust your monthly budget by about $300 per month and call that line item MCS.👍
