Hey everybody! Been reading amazingribs for years, but just recently joined the club. My real name is James and I am in the East Texas area near Longview, TX. Born and raised in Texas, I have lived here pretty much all of my life - but my real job as an engineer has taken me all over the US and other parts of the world at one time or another. Married with four daughters (Lord help me!), I am into shooting, smoking, camping, woodworking, boardgames, building stuff for my house when I have a spare minute.

My family was always grilling in the backyard, but I am the first to dive into smoking. I started about 10 years ago using a wood chip box on my gas grill, moved up to COS and UDS and now currently use both a weber kettle and a custom reverse flow offset stick burner.
