    Newb Intro Post

Hi folks! Been reading posts for a while but wanted to introduce myself. Born and raised in SE Texas and now live in SoCal a couple minutes from the beach in Dana Point/Laguna Niguel California. Funny - my wife was vegetarian when we met. She held out about 8 years and finally broke. Now she loves all bbq and creole. I am 41 and I love bbq and creole...imagine that! I have had a ton of cookers but recently purchased a Big Joe Kamado and love it. I would love to have an offset cooker but this ain't Texas and my back patio is tiny. Favorite cooks are steaks, ribs, wings and butts. My briskets have been mediocre at best which is embarrassing considering my dad could cook an incredible brisket on anything. I like to surf, play golf and bbq. My handle is glassydayz because it means a smooth sailing, no stress lifestyle...enjoy the ride! Glassy is the surface you glide on...or surf on! No kids but a yellow lab that keeps us busy and he loves to bbq as much as me. Overall, life is good and I am happy to share recipes and excited get to know some good folks that have similar passions. Cheers!

Welcome to The Pit Glassydayz! Nice to have you here, thanks for the support. This time of year I start getting pretty jealous of the folks that live on the Pacific coast. It's cold here and there's a couple more months of cold to come..

Since this is one of your first posts, please check out our homework assignment post for new members, it contains a few how-tos and please-dos. This will help you learn your way around so you can get the best experience from our forum.

Also, it's very important that you:
