New to the pit, but been using the website for long time. Finally got Meathead's book and decided it was time to join in. Love all the traditional bbq stuff and like any good Texan brisket is at the top.
Have had a couple of baby smokers over the years. Some cheap bullet smoker to start with, a cheap offset which rusted itself to death, and finally built a 55 gallon drum smoker that I use currently. Not perfect, but with my BBQ guru on it I can keep it steady for a long time and turn out some good stuff. Dream of upgrading but two kids has that on the back burner for now. Hope to one day build a nice cabinet style insulated smoker, either gravity fed or something similar to the Backwoods smokers. Look forward to hearing from others and if you have suggestions of builds or plans let me know.
Thanks
