Vancouver area, almost retired Electrical Engineer working part time, also do music, becoming a competent cook. Want to learn the proper ways to cook good food and have already found much in the way of good advice. Have a Q2200 Weber grill, Bradley digital smoker and a Charbroil Big Easy propane version. I came to the site as a side adventure of discovering Thermoworks products. I was studying temperature measurement products on Amazon and saw so many issues with various other products where former purchasers stated worked a few times then it died. I was impressed by the Thermoworks products offering replacement probes if they broke, a calibration facility and products shipping with a ceritficate of calibration. Viewing their site brought me here and opened my eyes to some great information on the how and why of cooking. Cooked the Christmas turkey 14 lbs in the Big Easy with a Smoke temp probe setup and a Thermapen Mk4 to verify. First time I used the equipment, second time ever cooking a turkey. The family complimented me and the evidence was a little bit of breast and a few bits of thigh meat with only 7 people taking part in the eating remained at the end of lunch.
Thanks to all, much to be learned here.
