Hello from an Englishman in New York

    HELLO!!!

I've been a big fan of Meathead/Amazing Ribs. Not sure why I didn't do this sooner?? I'm an idiot!!

I moved to the US 8 years ago and in my first two weeks of living here fell in love with American BBQ. Now living in Brooklyn so we finally have a yard, which I've filled with a Weber Performer Deluxe and a Pit Barrel Cooker.

My wife is Korean so I'm really keen to start mixing some Korean flavours with American BBQ (any pointers please send them my way) literally my two favourite food types.

Next up is Meathead's Ultimate Smoked Turkey on my PBC for Christmas dinner. Thanks to the folks who already gave me pointers on that.

Really looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone in the group.

    Happy Holidays!

    Sy

Welcome to the Pit. And a very belated Welcome to the US of A. We are happy to have you. Sounds like you have a great start to your arsenal. I would love to see some Korean/American BBQ blends coming out of the PBC! I bet that would be dynamite.

Korean BBQ sounds like the ticket. Head over to Koreatown in Manhattan. There's a place on W28th and 6th that is pretty fine. Should give you some ideas.

              Welcome!

Welcome! There are a couple Korean BBQ recipes on this site. Also, I live in Jersey City and on the Jersey side of the GW Bridge is a town called Palisade Park. It's like you are in Korea! All the signs are in Korean etc. I've been a couple times for Korean BBQ and it's amazing.

Welcome to The Pit Sy_662! Welcome also to the USA, what a cool story of a blend of cultures in your family! I don't know much personally about Korean food but I sure look forward to seeing what you come up with as well. The kettle and the PBC are killer cookers for great BBQ. Be sure to check out the Slow 'N Sear for that Performer if you haven't already.
