Hi everyone! This site came highly recommended to me from an old doctor in Alabama. He was not wrong. We just moved to NC from AL and I am bound and determined to figure out what the best smoker for me is! My husband and I like all kinds of smoked protein and veggies, and are trying to decide between a BGE, primo, kamado, or maybe something totally different that one of you suggest! Looking forward to learning!

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
I have already welcome you to the pit so I will give you my 2 cents worth on your next cooker. What you have mention above will serve your purpose to the tee (you don't know how hard it was for me to type this). Or you can take the cheaper route and get a 26" Weber kettle and the XL Slow n' Sear to go with it. There you go Breadhead I said it.

To to create an atmosphere like that is priceless.
So... I'm going to up my ante a little bit. Shoot the works, go for it. Buy all the stuff I listed on my last post and then add a Kamado. The brand of Kamado is not that important. Then add the DigiQ Dx2 or any temperature controller like it.
With those 2 cookers there is NOTHING you can't cook outdoors, including baking pizza, bread, cakes, pies and cookies. You can make the most primo steaks ever grilled. You can smoke briskets and pork butts and not lose 1 minute of your beauty sleep.
We in the Pit will shorten your learning curve on both cookers for whatever you chose to cook.
Now you're in for about $2000... A small price for creating such a lovely atmosphere around your home that will attract lots of good times for those you love spending time with.😎😎😎
