    Greetings from NC

Hi everyone! This site came highly recommended to me from an old doctor in Alabama. He was not wrong. We just moved to NC from AL and I am bound and determined to figure out what the best smoker for me is! My husband and I like all kinds of smoked protein and veggies, and are trying to decide between a BGE, primo, kamado, or maybe something totally different that one of you suggest! Looking forward to learning!

I have already welcome you to the pit so I will give you my 2 cents worth on your next cooker. What you have mention above will serve your purpose to the tee (you don't know how hard it was for me to type this). Or you can take the cheaper route and get a 26" Weber kettle and the XL Slow n' Sear to go with it. There you go Breadhead I said it.

Trust me Breadhead I haven't change. EEMS1224 has pretty much got her mind made up so I'm just making it easier for her to decide.

Ok... You are entering a new area of recreational activity that will bring you, your husband, friends and family lots joy that you can't possibly foresee at this point. Once you have the right gear and gain the skills that you've come to the Pit to absorb eventually your cookers combined with your BBQ and grilling skills will become a social magnet. You will find that your friends and family will be anxiously waiting their next invitation to your backyard for another BBQ feast and a friendly gathering of compatible people that love food.

To to create an atmosphere like that is priceless.

So... I'm going to up my ante a little bit. Shoot the works, go for it. Buy all the stuff I listed on my last post and then add a Kamado. The brand of Kamado is not that important. Then add the DigiQ Dx2 or any temperature controller like it.

With those 2 cookers there is NOTHING you can't cook outdoors, including baking pizza, bread, cakes, pies and cookies. You can make the most primo steaks ever grilled. You can smoke briskets and pork butts and not lose 1 minute of your beauty sleep.

We in the Pit will shorten your learning curve on both cookers for whatever you chose to cook.

Now you're in for about $2000... A small price for creating such a lovely atmosphere around your home that will attract lots of good times for those you love spending time with.😎😎😎

I am a BGE guy and I love. If Inwere doing it over and could afford it I think I would go for a Primo oval for greater versitality.

Welcome aboard! Another person who wants advice on what smoker to get. I will repeat myself. Do you really want 8,000+ opinions on what to get. That could be a possibility you know. Or maybe a silent majority will just remain silent. Anyways, enjoy the ride!
