Hello - London Calling

Hello everyone, just joined up.

I live in London so I'll be doing a lot of measurement conversions when it comes to testing out Meathead's terrific recipes.

I am moving house in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to learning how to properly BBQ. I am planning on picking up either a Weber or if at all possible a Kamado Big Joe.

I hope to cook pulled pork, beans, mac n cheese and a fresh salad for our housewarming garden party.

I look forward to chatting to you all! I'll post some British recipes too. Our food has a terrible reputation but it's a hangover from the fifties. Most of my American friends adore things like Scotch Eggs, Cornish Pasties and British Curries when they visit!

I'm a journalist by trade and apart from BBQ I'm obsessed with all things creative.

Second, get the Weber 22" and an SnS and you won't go wrong. Glad to hear you got tired of boiling everything. You're only problem now is going to be getting some good beef to start with. (Talk to some of my kinsfolk in Scotland or Wales.)
