    Hello from Calgary

    Hi everyone! I’m based in Calgary these days, although I’ve spent time in a few different Canadian cities over the years, including Edmonton and Vancouver. I've always enjoyed grilling, but recently I decided it was time to get more serious about low-and-slow BBQ and finally picked up my first smoker.

    I'm still learning the ropes, but that's part of the fun. I've been experimenting with different wood pellets, trying out new rubs, and figuring out how to keep temperatures steady. So far I've done ribs and a couple of whole chickens, and I'm already hooked. My family has been more than happy to volunteer as taste testers, which definitely makes the learning process more enjoyable.

    I'm looking forward to picking up tips from everyone here, learning from your experiences, and hopefully sharing a few successful cooks of my own along the way. Looking forward to being part of the community!

                            Thanks for the welcome! You're right, it's a Z Grills, and it's been a fun way to get started with smoking. I've only done ribs and whole chickens so far, but I'm planning to tackle a pork shoulder next. I don't have any good photos yet, but I'll definitely share some after my next cook.

                            I am not trying to jinx you, I have heard in these posts a shoulder /butt is about the easiest smoke going. Soo much info here! We welcome any and all questions. Then we all learn.
