    Hello from St Louis!

    Hello all!
    I've been using this site for years for tips and recipes and decided it was time to finally register and get to know some of you fine folk! I'm 55yo with 3 kids and 1 grandbaby. My grandfather was a classically trained french chef and first taught me to cook when I was 5, standing on a stool next time him in the kitchen. I have loved cooking since. Cooking for good food for friends and family has always been a love language of sorts.

    I have been smoking for about 6 years now. I started with a smoke tube in a gas grill, moved to an upright electric smoker for a bit before really deciding I wanted to get more serious about smoking. The patio quickly grew to a Blackstone, a Weber kettle, then a Big Green Egg, and now a Yoder 480 pellet smoker. The goal is cook outside 5-6 days a week. If I can mange to never cook inside again, I would be thrilled! haha

    Outside of smoking & cooking, I am a huge hockey fan (Go Pittsburgh Penguins!!), I collect and restore vintage fountain pens, and am an avid reader. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
