    Long time visitor, first time forum poster from sunny South Florida

    One of my favorite things in life is to enjoy good food and drink with friends and family and I've always enjoyed grilling and cooking in general, indoors and out. A few years ago I started having people over for a casual barbecue every so often. I always get compliments for my skills but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and a nerd so whenever I tackle something new I love to research and learn how to do it the right way. The amount of accumulated knowledge on this site is unmatched and for several years now this site has been my go to resource whenever I'm planning a party. So, supporting it by joining The Pit was only natural.

    I'm a gas-to-charcoal convert and thanks largely to this site I'm currently in love with the simplicity and versatility of my Weber Kettle. Also, thanks to your review and Ernest's very impressive thread I'm very excited to say that I'm the proud new owner of a Karubecue C-60 pit! It just arrived a few days ago and I can't wait to get it fired up and dialed in.

            Welcome!. Fellow Floridian here and also big fan of the Weber kettle, along with the Smokey Mountain bullet smoker. Same here, got a big education from this site and Meathead and every contributor to this site deserves our support by becoming members of The Pit. Enjoy!

                    Guest in fact I do, I currently use an All-Clad Digital Probe thermometer. It does the job but I plan to upgrade soon. And congratulations on getting Moderator!

                    Since your in FL, I wonder if there would be any orange growers that would let you take some dead trees from their plantations. That is one spot that I would look at. gon4good20
