I have a wonderful assortment of temperature reading devices, like infrared, instant read, and stay in brands.... all are good and kept in calibration.
I love beer guys... I can say I've tasted/sampled hundreds, maybe a thousand. I brew my own and love local Texas selections. Shiner has a wonderful selection of brews I like. There are many others in Texas worth putting to your lips. I drink what tastes good, no matter where it's brewed!
I experiment with food on the grill/smoker and in the oven. I'm inspired with what I read. I love to show off with family & friends.
I love to grill and smoke food. My collection of grills and smokers include, a Cookshack Amerique, Char-broil Infrared gas grill, New Braunfels wood smoker and a portable Weber kettle for traveling. I love experimenting with cooking food. Traditional meats, fish, seafood, veggies and fruits have all crossed my path.
I look forward to good conversation on this site, good exchange of info and maybe a few new ways to grill/smoke foods.
Welcome to The Pit Phil! When you have a chance take a few minutes to read my welcome letter as well as tips on how to use The Pit. They can be found in the Welcome and Announcements Channel. In particular, check out my tip #1 on signature creation and tip #4 on pic uploading. Tip #4 will help display your pics in a larger format that's viewable in the thread itself. As you can see we're a small but growing community. The more information and love you put in the more interest we'll get from fellow Pit members. Before you know it we'll have a BBQ wiki bounty of information for everyone to review, improve, share, and use. I look forward to your input!
BTW I live in SA for 4 years. I have VERY fond memories of Rudy's brisket and Salsalito's Steak Fajitas! I was stationed at Randolph AFB as a flight instructor.
