    Greetings from Upstate, NY!!

    Greetings from Upstate New York!!

We're excited about getting back into smoking - we have 4 things we use:

    1. Traditional Weber Grill (How we started, not used much these days)
    2. Weber "Great Smokey" (Used a few years ago as our smoker - it's ready for some technilogical hacking!!)

    Then the upgrades:

    3. Weber Summit gas grill (Use this during weeknights in the summer for grilling - 2 years ago)
    4. "The Good One" Open Range (we use this the most for charcoal grilling and smoking - found it on *clearance* at a garden center 2 years ago!)

I travel a lot, and my wife learned how to do smoking, and grilling for when I'm gone, and I think at this point she's better than I am at it!

Welcome Bromo33333. We're glad you're here. I think it's great that you and your wife both enjoy smoking & grilling! In my family I do the smoking & grilling and my family eats. Well, they do prepare the vegetables/sides.

Same here Although twice now I've gotten my wife to watch the temps when I had to leave and take the meat off and faux cambro it when ready. Baby steps....

Welcome! But never, EVER! let the wife think she is better at the grill or smoker, you might as well dig your grave and have your friends bury you in your smoker.

I live in Virginia now, but went to school in the Albany area back in the day. I am always curious where people are from when the say upstate NY.

Looking at your profile you are from Rochester which is certainly upstate. I often have discussions with people on what constitutes upstate NY when we hear that someone is from there. It's like there are 2 states.....NYC and vacinity, and everywhere else. Upstate doesn't start until somewhere north of Kingston or thereabouts.

Curious to hear what you think.

                            Welcome to the Pit!
