Hi everyone! I got the meathead book the other day and it's been exciting to read and learn from. I decided to get the free-trial for this site because reddit only goes so far. What's the best channel to post a question on DIY cookers or to ask about an extremely versatile (impossible?) cooker? Thanks and cheers!

First, welcome! I’d post in https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...rs-and-refurbs One great thing about the Pit is that your posts will appear in Recent Posts so no matter where it is posted everyone will see it.
And if I’m wrong the moderators will get it to the right place for you.

Weber Performer Deluxe
SNS
Pizza insert
Rotisserie
Cookshack Smokette Elite
2 Thermapens
Chefalarm
Dot
lots of probes.
Fireboard
Welcome to The Pit.
Donw posted the correct place to post your question. For "most versatile", it's hard to beat a Weber Kettle. You can do a lot of things with just the kettle, but there are a ton of accessories that that will add additional cooking options:
A Slow 'N Sear will help with smoking as well as hot and fast
A Vortex will help with hot and fast - especially for chicken
A rotisserie will allow you to spin your product
A pizza attachment will help with cooking 'za
A Santa Maria attachment will help with cooking directly over a wood fire.
There are probably more attachments I have forgotten about, but I think you see the idea.
Questions? Just ask - someone here will probably be able to help.

How about a used Bronco??
I am selling my Bronco (that is EXTREMELY versatile)...
$400 with two temp spike thermometers that read right to you mobile device or home computer...
In addition, a ThermoPro 960 is included... Again which transmits over wifi...
$400 will do it. You must pay for freight and prep to ship. Or pick it up in Central Massachusetts
It also comes with a cover...

Hello from NW Oregon
For DIY cooker, I would venture to say you could post it under the MISC. section for the type of cooker. for example a DIY offset log burner.
Other Log Burners, Stickburners, Offsets Smokers & Misc. - Pitmaster Club (amazingribs.com)
But this is only my best guess.
