Hello, I am Donnie Morlan from Coralville (Iowa City) Iowa. I am a quality management nurse working 25 years at the Iowa City VA hospital. I have been a pellet smoker for about the last 5 years. I recently got another Weber kettle and I am looking forward to learning how to smoke on that. I have followed Meathead since I got the pellet smoker and recently joined the club. I look forward to learning tricks of the trade from everyone.

Welcome Donnie. I am also a new member although I have been using the site for a long time. I would suggest you read the posts here about the Slow N Sear, (SNS). I've been using Weber Kettles for a looong time, and the SNS is the best thing I have added to it.

Donnieonfire, Welcome to The Pit! I think RonB is giving you good advice about the S 'n S check it out on Weber Accessories Heading on the AR's Home Page! It truly is a GAME CHANGER! You might also look into a Temp Controller (BBQ Guru DigiQ-2 or an Auber and several others! One thing I know is living in Iowa like you do, You don't have to go far to find something to put on the Smoker!
