Hi, all.

Joining in from just north of Houston. Been grilling forever, but smoking for about 10 years now. I have a Primo XL ceramic grill that I love. Started with a BBQGuru CyberQ, but just upgraded to a brand new Fireboard 2 (so still playing with that). Found this place looking for ideas on how to store the Fireboard, in fact...

Married, 3 boys (2 completely left the nest; one only home from college for the summers), 2 dogs and several fish. Even so, we eat a lot less around here than we used to. That means most of the smoking is reserved for when we have friends over or some party or something.

Welcome to the Pit from Dallas, Texas! Your situation is similar to mine but both kids are out on their own and no pets except the wild birds we feed in the backyard.

We're in the same boat--kids gone, so most of the smoking I do is for us. However, whenever the kids come to visit, they bring their coolers, and go home with a load of pulled beef, pulled pork, smoked meatloaf, smoked sausages, etc. They love to entertain serving some of that smoked bounty to impress their friends.
