    Tough smokin' in Michigan today....

....in the snow...But that's OK, I'm in Hong Kong, on a trip! While geeking the net in between naps, I found this site, and...wow!!! Almost a sensory overload just skimming reviews, recipes and the like.

I've had a BGE for a few years, and love it! Just a great piece of grilling gear and the versatility keeps blowing away the dinner guests. Having said that, I'd like to add to the arsenal by replacing my old cheap electric smoker with either a Cookshack Amerique or one of the charcoal or wood fired models. Half the fun is in the pursuit of the toy anyway.

When I'm not grilling, no place I'd rather be than putting miles on my Indian Chieftain, or pulling a few salmon out of Lake Michigan!

    Cheers.........Tony

flyby - welcome to The Pit and welcome to The Addiction!

That BGE is a helluva cooker, isn't it? I've had a couple and loved 'em both. BGE was my introduction to ceramic kamados and it was a great platform to learn on. I think that ceramics are the most versatile cookers on the planet.

Again, welcome to The Pit. Here's to great cooks and even better memories with family and friends!

Welcome to the Pit! What have you flown? I'm not an airline driver ... but I've managed to log a few thousand hours in a variety of winged things, both fast and slow ...

The usual mix of Piper, Cessna and Beech stuff. Lot of time in BE-18s (the taildragger versions) hauling freight around. With American, I've flown the 707, 727, 757, 767, 777 and also the DC-9s and 10s...Just about time to hang it up and enjoy life after checkrides!

flyby - nice resume! I've flown pretty much every Cessna, a bunch of Pipers & Beeches, Aero Commander 500B, and (my favorite) a ton of Pitts time (some right side up). Also got a bit of Lockheed T-33A and Convair F-106B & C-131 time. Again, welcome aboard! (I share your love of check rides)

Pretty neat for you to sign up fresh on finding the site. I still remember the day I found the site, via the "Offset Smoker Congrats You Have a Piece of Crap Don't Worry Here Is What To Do With It" page.

              Welcome!!!

West sider, grew up in Muskegon, spent a great couple of years at MSU...Live near the Lake Michigan shore, between Holland and Grand Haven. I've managed to put about 400 miles on the bike this spring, before winter set in again!

flyby Cool Love that side of the state especially camping Ludington and Silverlake. we only get over there in July- August to do the Ludington offshore classic tournament and my buddy leaves his boat there for the month after that to do some camping and fishing. They do a lot of walleye fishing in Saginaw Bay where I'm from in Bay City and my buddies are starting a charter service this year for that. I'll give you credit for riding already this year, I haven't even thought about getting The Fatboy out yet .Again enjoy the pit you will love it here!

Welcome to The Pit flyby! I too am from central MI, and my family visits your neck of the woods many times each summer (well, Ludington to be exact, but Lake Michigan beach anyway). Glad to have you here. There's 2" more of snow in my yard right now. I'd have to take my socks off to count how times this "spring" we've gotten snow then it's melted, then repeat. Ridiculous....but we're that much closer to real spring I guess.
