    Greetings from Wisconsin

Hi everyone— I received my first Weber Kettle about 45 years ago, but I didn't begin cooking with anything else until about 2000. I had to go to Memphis on business and my contact said he'd take me out for barbeque. Coming from Wisconsin, my idea of BBQ was chopped up ham with bottled sauce on it. Well, he took me to this little hole in the wall place (Germantown Commissary) and I've been in love with real BBQ ever since.

I've owned a couple of cheap offsets, a WSM, and am about to take delivery of a Masterbuilt 1050. Now that I'm 70, I don't have the energy to babysit an offset anymore.

I'm looking forward to engaging all of you and learning more about cooking outdoors!

    Pete

Welcome to the Pit! I really like my Masterbuilt 1050. So much, in fact, that it ended up replacing the Weber 26" kettle that I previously used for all of my grilling and quite a bit of my smoking. I didn't see that coming at all.

Welcome to the pit from southern Illinois! I too had my first taste of real BBQ in Memphis. And I was hooked.
