Welcome from Yadkin Valley, NC. No one “happens” upon Amazing Ribs. It’s no accident you are here. Call it divine providence or sunspots but you were meant to find us, your brethren. Weather station?? Another passion of mine…meteorology. Besides being a law enforcement officer I was also my city’s Emergency Management Coordinator. And working in South Florida, weather was always on my radar ( so to speak )

WayneT thanks for the invite. Clawbear57 mentioned it also but we have a cruise coming up that week. Hopefully we can make the next one. I was stationed at Fort Bragg back in the day and after I got out I worked as a police officer for three years in Goldsboro before moving to So Fla. My wife’s parents live in Cary and her sister is in Clayton

That’s cool, I’ve been known to bust balls once I’m comfortable with folks 😁 I’ve always wanted a weather station but have to choose my battles wisely, I can only take so many eye rolls from the boss! 😂

I grew up in Goldsboro from 1951-1969 so know that area well. My parents continued to live there until 2016. I was stationed at Pope AFB (adjacent to Ft. Bragg) in 1971 when it still belonged to the AF. I have a son that lives in Cary. Our paths may have crossed at some point in time. I hope I waved.
You can completely disregard half of what Panhead John says out of hand and believe a fraction of the rest at your own peril. As for weather stations, ask PJ what the temperature is in his garage and he'll proudly tell you but don't bother asking him about rainfall accumulation or wind speed and, whatever you do, don't ask him how many mm Hg. Just for comparison, here is my weather station tablet display.
PJ can honestly state that he has never had his balls busted because he doesn't meet the prerequisite.
In truth, I'm proud to call PJ my friend and you will soon learn that he is the glue that holds this rabble together at times. (Shhhhh, don't tell him I said that.)
You could swing by the May Meat-up and depart from the port of Wilmington on an Archer Daniels Midland grain barge. ;-)
