I cannot speak highly enough about RecTeq. I have an RT-690 that is just now out of warranty. They have been amazing about support. Call or email with an issue, and in some cases, one of the owners calls you to work through the issue. If it's a part, they ship it right away.

And welcome from yet another NoVA neighbor! I'm in Alexandria just over the line into Fairfax County (bit north of I-395 between Seminary & Little River). Good luck with your new cooker! My pellet rig is a Pit Boss Copperhead 5, which has a huge amount of cooking space (vertical form factor), nearly a full square metre. It does not have wifi control, but I do use the Fireboard to monitor remotely. I've done some overnight cooks with it and honestly, only a power failure or running out of pellets could make it deviate, these things are super steady. Something to consider, could open up your trade space and save you a lot of $ too if you're willing to forego remote control and live with just remote monitoring.

Yea i hear you. But experience in my neighborhood tells that the power will go out and I won't know until several hours later which is most frustrating. Otherwise I probably would be more open to forego the wifi.
