    Hi from Louisiana

    At least I think I'm in Louisiana. After last night's El Nino show I think I've been blown over to the east coast. I'm from Lafayette, LA which is probably better known as a suburb of Jerod Broussard's childhood home of Riceville, LA. (BTW, Jerod, my first job was on my uncle's rice farm near Crowley.) I've been a parttime BBQer for several years. I switched to the WSM in 2006 and just recently bought a Pit Barrel Cooker. I love them both. I also have a Weber Summit which I don't use much but can be good for quick grilling when needed. I also enjoy rotisserie chicken on the Weber. Hope that's not too offensive to BBQers.

    I've been learning from this site for a few months and the advice has been a big help. My friends and family actually believe I know what I'm doing.

      Welcome aboard, Steve. I must say that I have some pretty fond memories of Lafayette. I spent quite a lot of time there in the 90's and basically ate my way through the area whenever I was there (everything étouffée!) ...

            I was born at the Crowley hospital. Hauled rice there for my uncles years ago. They farmed near Iota.

                      What's the difference between a Cajun zoo and most any other zoo?
                      The Cajun zoo has recipes on the cages.
