New member; Primo XL and standard Weber Genesis.
Been quite happy with the kit; but the Primo is from 2004 (older style than what is sold today) with the lid Band giving me issues.
Looking to upgrade/replace the Primo and considering a Pellet. Many viable options it seems; though I would like one which I can run on planned weekends regardless of weather. I'm likely to purchase a higher end unit as the Primo has provided years of duty without fail.
I run a Flameboss on the primo to allow for me to do what I want during long cooks. My biggest concern with Pellet is the "what if we have bad weather"; specifically rain. I have looked at Yoders locally and appreciate their build; but the inside hopper lid seems doomed to allow water in. MAK looks promising though I don't think the wireless connection will match what I'm used to with the Flame Boss (like no IOS/Android App, no text for "offline", etc...). Things I have grown used to.
Have received much insight here on amazingribs.com...so joining to get others opinions.
anyone from the north DFW area with a MAK or 640 you'd like to discuss; let me know! Others ive not considered?
Thanks,
Rick
