            Good luck finding a grill. A Weber Kettle or a SnSGrills kettle with a Slow 'N Sear is always good for grilling and smoking, and fairly economical. If you already have Weber kettles back home, other "different" cookers to consider would be a drum/barrel type cooker (Oklahoma Joe Bronco, Pitbarrel Cooker, Gateway Drum) or on the high end, an offset smoker, which can burn straight wood as well as charcoal if you have a firebox basket. I wouldn't get an offset to ship back home though unless you have a good source of wood, both here and back home.

                Well I'll be... I've never heard of the Weber Kamado! Does it really insulate like a Kamado, or somewhere between a straight Kettle and a fully insulated Kamado/BGE?

                Cactus_Bandit It is double walled steel. Insulated like a Kamado but not ceramic.
