First let me say I love this site. About me, I am wanting to open a restaurant around the burger and smoked meat theme. I have been cooking most of my life. 20 years in food service. The thing that most concerns me is employees. I have plenty of experience with this. I want to surround myself with great people and I am studying how to do that. I know that some of you have experience with this and would love your feedback.
I am a veteran and have plenty of backup for my info and logistics but would like any comments or questions you may have about this subject.
Thanks Mike

Welcome to The Pit Mcmike! I have no professional food service experience. There are a few folks here who've recently started catering businesses and such, perhaps they can chime in when they get a minute. Meathead has a good article on some things to think about before opening a food service business here. Perhaps you know some of these things already being in the biz for 20 yrs, but it may be a good refresher for you if you haven't seen it yet.
Also, it's very important that you add the domain AmazingRibs.com to your email safe list in case you are ever drawn as our monthly Gold Medal Giveaway winner!
