I’m thinking of getting a griddle. However, it would need to be natural gas capable. The reviews on the free side have exactly zero natural gas capable griddles. The only one I’ve found so far is the Halo Elite. Does anyone here have one? Has anyone used their brother-in-law’s? Does anyone know anything about them? Max Good is there anything you can add? I’m looking at the 2B, the 2 burner, 4 zone with a 24x20 griddle plate. It’s currently on sale at my neighborhood bbq store for $599 from $649.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
The Camp Chef flat top grills/griddles such at the FTG600 and FTG900 are supposed to be convertible. They sell an adapter hose to replace the regulator, to go to a natural gas quick connect, and their support can tell you what size bit to use to drill out the orifices on each burner.
You have to modify the brass orifice openings on the Camp Chef cookers to be larger, since natural gas has lower BTU's than propane, to get the heat back to where it would be with propane tanks. So it's a one way conversion, unless you replace the orifices again.
Kit is probably pricier than it should be, and you can probably get the same basic thing elsewhere cheaper:

Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
If you're a FB person check out the group The Griddle Group by The FlatTop King. Here's his website. From some of the posts on this subject I recall folks not happy with the performance of natural gas. I don't have any direct experience. Good luck.

I’m assuming you want natural gas because you already have it at home. Just curious, but why does it have to be NG? Those propane tanks last a pretty good while before you have to change it out. I think it was almost a year before I went through my first tank. Just checked and I got my griddle in July 2022 and I’ve gone through only 2-3 tanks. Personally, I’d be a little leary of having to drill the orifices or making modifications. Anyway, whatever you do you’ll love having a griddle!Last edited by Panhead John; March 18, 2024, 06:44 PM.

I just ordered the Halo Elite 4 Burner Griddle, with the Natural Gas Conversion kit. I've never had a griddle before, so I'm excited to try it.
Regarding the Natural Gas conversion kit for the Halo Elite, I'm actually happy to read people say that it makes their Halo Elite run a bit lower temps than Propane, and that it actually hits the sweet spot for low to high range temperatures now. One of the only slight "negatives" (for lack of a better term) that people seem to have about the Halo Elite Griddles, is that they tend to run really hot, even with the burners on Low, so the Natural Gas kit helps the temps be lower / more desirable, it seems.
