Lone Star Grillz (LSG) El Patron Grill in Tulsa Oklahoma area.

Up for sale is my El Patron grill which I purchased bc new and received around September of last year. It is always kept in my shop when not in use. I purchased many of the options which are: heavy duty rotisserie, folding stainless side table, stainless pull handle, utensil hooks, FireBoard 2 drive kit with fan and bulkhead adapter, fire management basket, utensil storage rack, split top cooking grate, charcoal basket. This grill has the 5” wheels.

I’m selling everything listed above for $2950.00 which is about a grand less than what you could buy a new one for if you add freight delivery.

This El Patron grill was purchased to replace my 25 year old hasty bake which was well past its due date. I wanted the El Patron to be the last grill I purchased but I’m switching back to hasty bake which suits me better. I have to move this in and out of my shop every time I use it which is wearing on me.

Some of the accessories shown in the pics are not LSG and will not be included in the sale.

if you have any questions or need to see additional photos, please message me. Oh and one more thing. This beast weighs 450lbs. I have the equipment to load it at my place. Local pickup only.
    Thanks for looking

Besides the weight of moving it around, what did you think of the quality of the cook? Similar to offset in terms flavor when running indirect mode? I see 2 of these up for sale now in this forum within a short time so wonder if there is "something" with these cookers?

          Eschmid2,
I have no issues with the quality of cook. I Mainly cooked steaks and picanha roasts on it but I also used the rotisserie at least 4 times for leg of lamb as well as a few times for whole chickens. The rotisserie cooked meats were the most awesome according to my wife.
As far as a comparison to an offset smoker, which I also own, I have yet to smoke anything longer than three hours on the El Patron but the dozen or so picanha roasts I smoked and then seared were excellent as well. Maybe not quite the amount of smoke as on the offset, but not too far off if compared to similar time sessions.
My problem is that we don’t have a covered area for day to day use of the grill. I have to roll it in and out of my shop building almost every day. Why every day? Well, my wife and I jointly began the carnivore diet about a year ago and 95% of our meals are cooked outside when the temps are above 40f. Warming the El Patron to 225f smoking temps is not an instant process. You have to remember this thing is 1/2” steel construction which absorbs a good amount of heat, similar to a heavy offset. My 20” dia offset is 3/8” thick throughout and it definitely takes longer to get the offset up to temperature.
Like I mentioned in my original post, I really wanted this to be my last grill and smoker but due to the evolution of our new lifestyle, cooking outside day to day took 15-20% longer than on the old hasty bake.

if anyone may be interested in this El Patron package but without the FireBoard 2 drive kit and fan, I’m willing to drop the price $250 or so.

I’ve attached pics showing the mixed cooking method versatility as well as the nice smoke ring on a three hour picanha.

Hi TbJohn thanks so much for the explanation and makes perfect sense in your situation. That's a great looking cook, thanks for sharing the extra pics!

From the LSG website: "The grill body and stand are constructed from 3/16'' carbon steel"

The "El Patron" Grill & Smoker is the most versatile cooker we make.  "El Patron" is THE BOSS in Spanish and that's exactly what this grill is.  Inspired by the old school "hot box" style cookers.  You can grill, smoke, do direct heat, low and slow, indirect heat, bake, sear, rotisserie, and its even a pizza oven.

Thanks for that clarification Jeff. I guess I was thinking of the square bar grates.
