Free to good homes, you pay $1.50 shipping.

On the HKPro forum we have a pay it forward thread where guys can give away spare parts ect. I have felt so blessed from the members of this site - how can I repay someone for enabling family dinners, a foundation for unity and fellowship? Well I have come up with a simple solution, share the tastes and aromas of some of my favorite herbs. I am offering up live chocolate mint plants. Chocolate mint is sublime, I pick and chew it raw every time I am in the garden. It is SIMPLY AWESOME in ice tea and mojitos. I am very interested in integrating it in some pork recipes soon.
So if you are interested I will send you some. My plants all originated from my parents' house in Washington and have spread everywhere I have planted them here. A word of caution though theses spread like wild fire so put them in large containers to control them. You can PayPal me using friends and family at [email protected] be sure to include your mailing address. Give me a week to get them out to you please.
More to follow because I have some other freebies in the works but right now I need to go get the weber going, pork ribs and a center cut round roast are on the menu tonight.

Yup, me too. Are you asking $1.50 each plant? Do I need more than one plant?

I will stick a bunch of them in a bag. You will be all set.

Pretty generous what martybartram is offering, kudos to you. Heed his advice though, it's a highly invasive plant and will take over your garden in no time. It's a perennial in just every zone of the country so next year it'll be back in full force and in much larger quantities.

Like he said, plant them in a stand alone container and treat them as an annual. Even still, next year you'll probably wind up with some of them in other parts of your yard/garden. Birds, squirrels, etc will spread them.

So I take it one plant will suffice? We have a little herb garden thingy that we plant our basil, rosemary etc in, it's 24"x24" roughly. I think we'd keep it trimmed down pretty good though, my kids would scarf it clean.

Definitely do not put it in with your other herbs, it will crowd them out and potentially change their flavor.

Should be good Huskee. Just check the surrounding area the next year because they will spread.

My wife has a bad back, she's had two fusion surgeries so she can't bend over much. She loves gardening so I built her a waist high raised garden that's about 3' x 6'. She grew some tomatoes in it last year and now this year I have tomato plants cropping up all over the place. Tomatoes aren't by any means invasive but from an above ground garden last year they're doing their darndest to take over everything at ground level this year.

Never heard of that with tomatoes.....must be lots of seeds from old tomatoes falling in the fall and they never got eaten by birds & squirrels.

That's what I'm assuming, tomatoes that were just left on the vine at the end of the year and never harvested. The wildlife had a field day with them and spread the seeds all over the place.

That happens with tomatoes in field crops where sewage sludge is used as fertilizer. It won't be the same as the hybrids that we all grow from seed or buy ready to transplant...
