    Rectec 700

So, does a Rectec 700/2018 with a SS front shelf and cover that is "lightly" used for $850 sound like a good deal? I know what new one goes for, but this sounds like a good deal given it is 15miles away

Just inspect it for rust, the stainless quality is good for the price but every now and then you see someone with excessive rusting post a complaint before they get silenced by the RT Mafia on various social media platforms Also look at what upgrading to the current controller and auger will cost and compare that to a new unit and I believe RT still currently has a 15% off all products promo running

They’re having a sale this week (today is the last day) of 15% off sitewide. So a new one is $1,019. I’d be tempted to pull the trigger on a brand new one instead.

Especially because you get the warranty with a new one... 6 years, IIRC.

I have a 700 I bought in May of 2019. It’s been flawless. But if you can get a new one for $1,019 right now, I would go new for sure. Long warranty on these. Mine has a six year so still covered.

Damn, this place is a minefield. I keep wondering if I should try a pellet grill, and the RT-700 sounds about perfect. I could get by with the RT-590, but it bugs me that the warranty is two years less…

Get the 700. You’ll be glad for the extra cooking space.

I'd lean heavily towards the 700 over the 590. There's a lot more options that compete with the 590 at the sub 1k price point.

Too much for a used one.

The differential in price of new/used is too small to buy used. Get the RT to throw in a new cover when you buy the new unit.

But there's also tax and shipping, not sure how much that affects the math.

Murdy Sales tax isn't that much, and they offer free shipping.
