Friends,

I am posting this here simply because It is the correct location. I am not looking to sell anything to you all, I am just wanting to share.

One of my bucket list items has been to write a book. This past year, I finally accomplished that goal. I now have a site that basically promotes the book 30minutesales.com . I wanted to post about this milestone and to share the link mainly to let my friends in the Pit know of this accomplishment. However, I do not want to nor do I expect anyone to buy it.

Surely not expecting a best seller here. Matter of fact, I am probably not going to list on Amazon. I do plan on using this as a tool for consulting gigs as they come available.

I had a life long career in sales. I sold engineered components that went into off road mining and construction equipment to companies such as Volvo, Komatsu......... My sales were long term, took a long term to get them designed into and specified. A little different sales approach but still the most important aspect was prospecting for new opportunities. That is one of the hardest phases of sales.

If you are part of any professional communities, it may be worth listing it there as well. Amazon and those communities could be valuable simply as a source of feedback in case you ever want to publish a revised edition.

Congratulations man! I also would love to write a book, I have a premise for a novel I've sort of laid out in my head for many years. I think I first made notes on it 12+ years ago - just haven't sat down to get started on it. It would also need some real historical research to be accurate. I think it would be really good but then... why would anyone write a book if they thought it was going to be bad??? lol

Just curious, why don't you want to list your book for sale on the bigger sites? Personally, I think I'd be upset by the negative feedback that is INEVITABLE on really any book. But I don't know what your reasoning is, I'm curious.
